About the Author: Richard-Merlin Atwater (A.S., B.S. 1970, 1973 Weber State University, M.A. 1975 Brigham Young University, DNSM 1988 National Defense University) is a New England convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full time LDS Mission to the Great Lakes Mission 1970-72. He spent twenty-three years as an American Defense Intelligence Officer in Soviet Affairs and Counter-terrorism. He taught Political Science classes at BYU as a graduate teaching assistant (1973-75) and went on to become an Asst Professor of Aerospace Studies at BYU (1982-85). While still a professor on the faculty at BYU President Jeffrey Holland called him to teach religion classes in the department of Ancient Scriptures. He is currently Asst High Priest Group Leader and Quorum Instructor in his home ward ( Palm Harbor, FL) and a certified temple worker Orlando, FL Temple.

The Book of Mormon is His book---it testifies of Him as the true Messiah and Savior of the world to the convincing of both Jew and Gentile. It was written from 600B.C. to 421 A.D. at a time parallel to the Bible but on the American continent by Israelite prophets who emigrated here from Jerusalem. The writings contained in The Book of Enoch the Prophet who was seventh in succession from Adam, the Father of the human race, indicate that the Son of God would be born in the meridian of time. His writings indicate that JESUS CHRIST is "more good" and "righteous" and therefore a "Mormon" even before He was born into mortality in Bethlehem to Joseph and Mary of Nazareth. Although Enoch is mentioned in the Old Testament BIBLE as a great Prophet, his writings have been found elsewhere in other documents and manuscripts of ancient authenticity. Enoch the Prophet recognized the reality that JESUS CHRIST is a Mormon! He so states this veritable truth in his own handwriting (as recorded by revelation to Moses) of ancient date. The great Prophet Abraham of the Old Testament BIBLE is known as "Father Abraham" to the three great religions of the world: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All three religions claim lineage, authority, and a royal Priesthood of power, as well as birthright claims to the soil and substance of the Holy Lands because of their ties to "Father Abraham". The Prophet Joseph Smith in modern times proclaims to have seen both God the Father, and the resurrected Jesus Christ. God the Father proclaimed JESUS to be His Son. And JESUS CHRIST declared to Joseph Smith that HE (JESUS CHRIST) was "more good" and "righteous" meaning "Mormon". The translation of The Book of Mormon as an ancient manuscript reveals the identity of JESUS CHRIST as the Son of God, and as the Messiah looked for anciently among the peoples of Palestine and Meso-America.
